Roger Taylor's article The Alerion Class Sloop was first published by National Fisherman in the winter of 1979, one of a series he wrote on unusually interesting boats, usually old. International Marine Publishing Company , Camden ,Maine, began reprinting these articles as a series of books, beginning in 1977 with Good Boats. The Alerion Class Sloop article was published in Still More Good Boats in 1981.
